We, the Botley Playing Fields Association (BPFA), are raising funds to install a new playground at Botley Road. This is because the existing playground was built over 40 years ago, and has slowly deteriorated into a poor state of repair. Over the past 18 months, the fence and three pieces of equipment have been removed due to failing safety checks. Over the next year, the remaining equipment will also be removed.

The playground is currently the nearest usable playground for 1,200 children aged 0-12 in Chesham. Our community consultations have enabled us to identify that the new equipment should include:

  • slides,
  • swings,
  • a play frame,
  • a roundabout,
  • a trampoline
  • and picnic tables.
  • Together, we can create a genuine community asset in Chesham that can be used by the community for many years to come.

We have been active since 2013 and we started our fundraising in 2015. We plan to secure funding all our funding by the end 2015, with an installation date set for Spring 2016.

Together, as a community, we are raising funds for a new playground. We are doing this through: grant applications, corporate sponsorship and private fundraising. Hopefully, you’ve been to some of our events so far which have been a lot of fun and raised us lots of money!
